Being part of the Lady TigerBots for the last time has been extremely fun, especially with an amazing team alongside me. I love the work that we are doing for our community and how we are able to spread positivity amongst others.

I really enjoy how enthusiastic and kind all of the girls are. I am really glad that the project deals with people in our community and problems that it faces often.

Hi friends! My name is Brenda Rodriguez, I am a freshman at STEAM Legacy High School.
Girls Build LA has helped me become an active member in my community. The organizations and events has exposed me to different issues and topics that are necessary to be informed about. I have gained knowledge and friendships through Girls Build LA.

Being part of a school where young women are not being taken into consideration it is hard to find a place where you can feel supported and Girls Build LA has done that for me. As close community we get to discuss the harsh realities that have been affecting women in our community over time. This year we are focusing on immigrants in our community. We understand the difficulties that many face and for this same reason we are trying to come up with solutions that will help our community. I am proud to say that I am part of this team where helping our community is our number one goal. This team has grown together and so have its ambitions.

The team that we created is great, we all do our best to reach our goal. Not only did we create a team, but a family. It’s been an experience meeting everyone and learning their personalities as well as their ideas they bring to the table. Throughout the months of the project, we have recruited new team members having our family grow. Many people will come and go in time, but we never forget the memories we all had with each other. The project is something that we all have a passionate interest to help support. Since we can all relate to this in one way or another. Immigration is something our relatives have gone through to continue living in this country. They have sacrificed so much to at least have a chance for their kids having a better life. We have gotten so much support from our fellow classmates and teachers who also participated in our events.

Girls build la for me has been a wonderful place to express your ideas and for this year we are so fortunate to be able to work on immigration. Being able to work in any issue in the community is honestly amazing. Just showing how if you put your mind to something you can do anything to the biggest or to the smallest. Being in girls build la is so amazing and hope to be in it as long as possible.

Our focus on immigrants and low income people hits close to home because my community mainly consists of the two. I enjoy the projects focuses because I get to help and give back to my community who has given me a lot. I get to share my roots and ideas through these people, and watch them thrive. I have an amazing team and together everything is possible, I like the responsibility and dedication of my group members and their families.

Being apart of Girls build L.A. has really inspired me to become a better person and help others. Many of the projects we have done were based on helping those who are less fortunate than us. I learned so much from this team, as everyone was always so focused and motivated in helping our community out. This being one out of the many things that I really admire about this team.

I love being in girls build because it’s a strong community where I feel comfortable sharing ideas and I enjoy being able to contribute to activities and be able to create workshops and be active in the community. I like how inclusive the team is and I feel like everyone in the club gets a voice.

What I like about the the team is that it’s all about bringing social change in not only our community but in other ones as well. What I like about the projects we’ve done so far is they’re very inclusive. As we and get others schools and the people in our community involved to bring awareness on our central topic; immigration. I over all like that it makes me interact and feel needed in a community that is surrounded by like minded girls.
